  • COOL FACT

Lavender has been an important ingredient in cleansing and calming rituals for centuries! The Romans even named the plant after its use in their bathing routines (“lava” means “to wash” in Latin). In Elizabethan times, when bathing was uncommon, lavender was used to perfume clothes and bed linens.

Components

Time to talk chemistry! We’re drawn to Pure Lavender oil because it contains components (you may have also heard them called “constituents”) that work together to affect our body in unique ways. Let’s break it down:

  • LINALOOL

This citrus-floral component provides a calming fragrance for a relaxing fragrance experience.

  • LAVANDULYL ACETATE

This component has a light floral, herbal, and lemon aroma that's unique to Pure Lavender.

  • LINALYL ACETATE

The strong, fresh, floral and fruity aroma make it suitable for wide range of applications.

  • TERPINEN-4-OL

This minor component adds a peppery, woody, and earthy aroma to Lavender.

  • CIS-BETA-OCIMENE AND TRANS-BETA-OCIMENE

These components have a combined citrus, tropical, and green aroma.

Safety

If pregnant or nursing, consult your health professional before use. Avoid contact with eyes. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Lavender’s Backstory

For centuries, lavender has been beloved for its versatile benefits and its wonderfully fresh, floral, calming aroma. Ancient Egyptians associated lavender with love and beauty. The Romans named the plant after its use in their bathing rituals (“lava” is to wash).

Today, lavender continues to be valued for its relaxing fragrance and beautifying properties. Add a few drops to your face lotion morning or evening to improve the appearance of skin imperfections. Do as the Romans did and add it to bath water to soak or place a few drops of lavender on your pillows, temples, and bottoms of the feet to prepare for a restful night’s sleep.
